เว็บไซต์ Kotaku รายงานข่าววงในของ PlayStation รุ่นหน้า ซึ่งมีรหัสเรียกขานภายในว่า Orbis (แปลว่าวงกลมในภาษาละติน) ว่า

• กำหนดออกปลายปี 2013
• ซีพียู AMD 64 บิต
• จีพียู AMD "Southern Islands" รองรับความละเอียดหน้าจอ 4096x2160, เล่นเกม 3 มิติที่หน้าจอระดับ 1080p ได้ (PS3 ทำได้ที่ 720p)
• โซนี่ส่งเครื่องทดสอบให้นักพัฒนาบางกลุ่มตั้งแต่ต้นปีแล้ว และที่งาน Game Developers Conference (GDC) เมื่อต้นเดือนมีนาคมนี้ก็ส่งเครื่องทดสอบรุ่นที่สอง ส่วนเครื่องทดสอบเวอร์ชันสามจะออกปลายปีนี้

ถึงแม้ว่า Microsoft จะออกมายืนยันว่าจะยังไม่ออก Xbox รุ่นใหม่ในปีนี้ แต่ข่าวลือเกี่ยวกับเครื่องเล่นเกมสุดฮิตตัวใหม่ก็ยังมีออกมาไม่ขาดสาย และรายงานล่าสุดระบุว่า เราอาจได้เห็น Xbox รุ่นใหม่ถึงสองตัวด้วยกัน

เริ่มจาก Xbox Lite ที่เราอาจได้เห็นในช่วงสิ้นปีหน้า โดยคาดว่าจะมีราคาขายเพียง 100 เหรียญสหรัฐ (ราว 3,000 บาท) สำหรับฮาร์ดแวร์ที่ใช้ก็คาดว่าจะเป็นชิพของ ARM แทนที่จะเป็นซีพียู PowerPC เหมือนอย่างใน Xbox 360 ส่วนชิพกราฟิกเรายังไม่ทราบข้อมูลในตอนนี้ แต่ก็คิดว่าคงไม่อาจเทียบได้กับโปรเซสเซอร์ Xenos บน 360 อีกเช่นกัน พูดง่ายๆ คือ Xbox Lite นี้อาจต้องการเจาะกลุ่มตลาดนักเล่นเกมแคชวลที่ชื่นชอบเกมแนวอาเขตที่วางขายมากมายใน Microsoft Live Arcade

Resident Evil ภาคล่าสุดที่จะพาเราย้อนกลับไปที่จุดเริ่มต้นที่เมือง Raccoon City โดยเนื้อหาของเกมจะกล่าวถึงหน่วยลับของทาง Umbrella ที่จะต้องเข้าไปในเมืองเพื่อกำจัดทุกอย่างเพื่อไม่ให้ความลับของ Umbrella รั่วไหลไป ซึ่งในเกมจะมีระบบ What if ซึ่งจะเป็นตัวกำหนดเนื้อเรื่องภายในเกม เช่น จะเกิดอะไรขึ้นถ้า Leon ตาย หรือ Claire เป็นอะไรไปละ ซึ่งนั้นก็เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในจุดที่น่าสนใจของระบบเนื้อเรื่องภายในเกมนี้ แต่ยังไงก็จะไม่เปลี่ยนเนื้อเรื่องของเกมนี้หรอกนะครับ

ในเกมเราจะได้เล่นไปพร้อมกับสมาชิกหน่วย 4 คน ซึ่งเราจะต้องลุยกำจัดทั้งซอมบี้ พวกกลายพันธุ์ ไปจนถึงทหารฝ่ายศัตรู ในเกมมีระบบเลือกคลาสที่ส่งผลให้ตัวละครแต่ละตัวมีความสามารถแตกต่างกันไป โดยเราสามารถเลือกอัพเกรดความสามารถหรือปลดล็อคความสามารถได้ตามสายการเล่น

แต่ปัจจุบัน Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City ได้มีรีวิวออกมาหลายเจ้าแล้วเหมือนกันครับ ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่ถือว่าให้คะแนนเกมนี้ในระดับต่ำ เพราะว่ามีปัญหาในเกมมากเหลือเกิน ไม่ว่าจะเป็น AI สุดโง่ไปจนถึงเสียงที่ดูไม่สมจริง ส่วนจะสนุกหรือแย่ยังไงถ้าใครอยากจะลองก็ไปหามาเล่นกันดูเพื่อตัดสินใจกันเองละกัน

Total War: Shogun 2 ถือว่าเป็นเกมแนววางแผนที่กวาดรางวัลมาได้เยอะมากๆ ด้วยการรบที่ดูสมจริง กราฟิกสุดสวยงามไปจนถึงระบบการเล่นที่เร้าใจและความสมดุลภายในเกม และในที่สุดก็มีภาคเสริมออกมาให้เราได้เล่นกันอีกแล้วกับภาค Fall of the Samurai ในภาคนี้จะกล่าวถึงการเข้ามาของชาวต่างชาติในประเทศญี่ปุ่น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นอเมริกา,อังกฤษ, ฝั่งเศษ ซึ่งส่งผลให้สงครามเปลี่ยนแปลงไปอย่างมากมาย

อาวุธที่พัฒนาขึ้นเช่นปืน , ปืนกล, เรือรบ ซึ่งทำให้ระบบทหารแบบเดิมๆ เปลี่ยนไปเยอะ นอกจากนั้นเกมยังมีสิ่งก่อสร้างใหม่ๆ อีกมากมายเช่น สถานีรถไฟที่สามารถขนทหารไปแนวหน้าได้ในชั่วพริบตา ซึ่งทำให้การเคลื่อนทัพจะใช้เวลาไม่นานอีกต่อไป หรือสงครามทางทะเลที่เปลี่ยนไปใช้เรือรบพร้อมปืนใหญ่และตอร์ปิโด

สำหรับใครที่สนใจก็ลองไปหา Total War: Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai มาเล่นกันได้ แต่ภาคเสริมนี้ถือว่าเป็นตัวเสริมที่ใหญ่มากๆ เลยละครับ และไม่จำเป็นจะต้องมี Total War: Shogun 2 ก่อน ดังนั้นเราสามารถหาภาค Fall of the Samurai มาเล่นได้เลยจ้า

เกมแอคชั่นลอบสังหารชื่อดังอย่าง Assassin's Creed III ได้มีภาพหลุดของเวอร์ชัน "Join Or Die" Edition หลุดออกมาในเว็บขายสินค้าออนไลน์ของประเทศอิตาลี

คำว่า "Join Or Die" เป็นสโลแกนที่พูดกันอย่างแพร่หลาย ถูกคิดขึ้นโดย Benjamin Franklin ในการ์ตูนการเมืองของปี 1754
ซึ่ง Benjamin Franklin นั้นจะมีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อง และให้ความช่วยเหลือแก่ตัวเอกของภาคนี้ จึงทำให้มีความน่าเชื่อถือพอสมควร
ถึงจะมีการยืนยันว่า จะมี Assassin's Creed III เวอร์ชัน Limited Edition ออกมาขายแน่นอน แต่ยังไม่มีข้อมูลแน่ชัดนัก

Assassin's Creed III จะวางจำหน่ายประมาณวันที่ 31 ตุลาคม 2012 ในเวอร์ชัน XBOX360 และ PS3

The launch of NVIDIA's new range of Kepler-based graphics is almost on top of us, yet details are starting
to emerge about the GK104 GPU's big brother, the GK110.

It looks like NVIDIA decided to release the lower performance GK104 GPU as their upcoming top card,
the GTX 680, since performance was above what they expected. This GPU would most likely have gone
into a GTX 670 otherwise. It also could be due to the very large die size of the GK110 top dog chip, which
is surprisingly due for launch as far away as August. The naming for thiscard has not been revealed, but
speculation pegs it as the GTX 685, with the GTX 690 name reserved for the dual GK104 card. Leaked
specifications table is below, comparing the GK110 to the GK104 and AMD's HD 7970. Note the brawny
512-bit memory bus.

Adobe Illustrator 8 in line for fall debut

Testers applaud Actions, Gradient Mesh features

Creativity and productivity are highlighted this week as Adobe unveils the next version of its cross-platform illustration application, Illustrator 8.0. Beta testers said the upgrade was welcome, especially following the lukewarm reception of Version 7.0.

Due in September for Mac and Windows for a street price of $375, Version 8.0's revised feature set "will make learning the new interface worth it for those who did not upgrade to Version 7.0," said beta tester Woody Vondracek, infographer at The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. In addition to newtools, the upgrade lifts features from other Adobe graphics applications.

Topping the favorites list for testers is the Gradient Mesh tool, which lets users design complex color gradients for painterly results. Users create an array of anchor points that are assigned multiple colors, and the tool will blend the colors in multiple directions. Adobe said the software can achieve effects similar to pixel-based painting but without resolution limitations.

Beta tester Steven Larracey, senior art director at Ropkey Graphics of Indianapolis, said Gradient Mesh lets him create 3D graphics and complex background patterns as blends, "something I really had to work at in Photoshop."

Adobe PostScript 3 printers will support the special gradients without rasterizing the artwork, Adobe said.

Vondracek named the Action Palette as his favorite new productivity feature. Borrowed from Photoshop 4, it lets users record custom sequences and offers preset scripts. Vondracek said he uses the palette for formatting text and paint attributes.
